Reconnect in Fenelon Falls

As you drive through Fenelon Falls this summer it may seem like any other summer. The downtown is alive with beautiful flowers, boaters are travelling through Lock 34, and the shops, restaurants and accommodations are open for business. A closer look reveals that things are a little different. Walking through downtown you’ll see that some businesses are taking this time to renovate while others have updated their stores for a fresh new shopping experience. Businesses of all sizes have adapted and incorporated new health and safety protocols to offer a safe in-person shopping experience as well as curbside, delivery or online shopping opportunities.

Enjoying a meal, local craft beer or an ice cream cone may take a little more time and planning as our eateries have adopted new protocols. You’ll find new or expanded patio spaces and of course takeout is a great option for a meal on the go or enjoying a dinner on your own patio. Reservations are recommended as seating and seating times are limited to maintain physical distancing.

What remains the same is the opportunity to get outside and stretch your legs on the multi-use Victoria Rail Trail, trying your hand at catching some fish, getting out on one of the many nearby lakes and rivers or grabbing a selfie by the falls or the restored Fenelon Theatre marquee sign.

The last few months have been challenging for everyone and the Chamber of Commerce would like to acknowledge the hard work, sacrifice, and courage of our local business owners, health care workers, front line staff and community volunteers. We welcome you to reconnect with Fenelon Falls this summer or discover us for the first time. For current information on amenities, businesses and more visit www.explorefenelonfalls.com.
