The Indian River Reptile & Dinosaur Park was established in 1998 and is Canada’s only not-for-profit registered charity reptile sanctuary. Over 200 reptiles live in the park, including alligators, crocodiles, lizards, turtles and snakes of various species. The dinosaurs help attract visitors to support the sanctuary.

Most of the animals located at Indian River Reptile are rescues from the public or pet trade which were abandoned, and some are endangered species seized by Wildlife Canada Officers from smugglers. These animals cannot be returned to the wild because, in most cases, the original location is not known or the country of origin will not accept them.

At the time this article was written the walk-through portion of the reptile park was closed but by the time you read it we may be open so please call in advance. Our drive-through is open NOW and you are welcome 10 AM to 5PM daily all summer long.
